Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has sparked a major political stir with a sensational claim regarding the internal stability of the Samajwadi Party. During his visit to Kanpur, the Deputy CM launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party, its chief Akhilesh Yadav, and the broader opposition alliance. In a detailed interaction with the media, Maurya asserted that the political future of the Samajwadi Party would be completely decimated in the upcoming 2027 assembly elections. He expressed absolute confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party would secure a mandate for the third consecutive time in the state, effectively ending the opposition's relevance.
Samajwadi Party to Face Total Collapse in 2027
Continuing his offensive against the Samajwadi Party, Keshav Prasad Maurya stated that the party's political base is rapidly eroding. He predicted that the performance of the SP in the next assembly elections would be dismal. Drawing a parallel with the decline of certain political parties in West Bengal, Maurya suggested that a similar fate awaits the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh in 2027. He took a sarcastic jibe at Akhilesh Yadav, remarking that the party's symbol, the cycle, would no longer reach the corridors of power and would instead be restricted to the boundaries of Saifai. According to him, the public has lost faith in the party's vision and leadership.
Claims of Internal Rebellion and MP Defections
The most striking part of the Deputy CM's statement was his claim about an impending rebellion within the Samajwadi Party. Maurya alleged that all isn't well within the party ranks and that many senior leaders and MPs are deeply dissatisfied with the current leadership. He claimed that approximately 25 to 26 Samajwadi Party MPs are currently in a position where they're ready to break away from the party. However, he clarified that the BJP isn't engaging in any politics of poaching or engineering splits. Maurya predicted that as the elections draw closer, the internal conflicts and differences within the Samajwadi Party will become even more apparent to the public.
Clarification on Ram Mandir and Corruption Allegations
Addressing the allegations of corruption and questions raised regarding the donation boxes at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Deputy Chief Minister offered a firm rebuttal. He stated unequivocally that there has been no corruption in the construction of the Ram Mandir. Regarding the complaints received about the donation boxes, he confirmed that the matter is being investigated. Maurya emphasized that if any individual is found to have misused funds donated in the name of Lord Ram, every single penny will be recovered from them, while he assured that the investigation would be entirely impartial and that strict action against the guilty is certain.
Critique of Brahmin Sammelan and Caste Politics
Keshav Prasad Maurya also reacted to Akhilesh Yadav's strategy of organizing Brahmin Sammelans across the state. He argued that merely organizing such conventions wouldn't help the Samajwadi Party win back the trust of the people. Whether the party organizes Brahmin conventions, Thakur conventions, or meetings for any other community, Maurya believes the people of Uttar Pradesh have moved beyond the politics of caste. He stated that the electorate now prioritizes development, law and order, and good governance over identity politics when choosing a government.
Support for Chhattisgarh Government's Decision
The Deputy CM also welcomed the recent decision by the Chhattisgarh government to make the Gayatri Mantra and Hindu prayers mandatory in schools. He praised the move, stating that such steps are essential for strengthening moral values and cultural ethics among children, while maurya opined that education shouldn't be limited to textbooks alone but should also incorporate moral education and cultural heritage to ensure the holistic development of students.
BJP's Focus on Development and Public Trust
Concluding his interaction, Maurya reiterated that the BJP practices the politics of uniting society, whereas the opposition attempts to divide people for political gains. He urged the opposition to abandon negative politics and focus on public welfare. He credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the continuous development projects in the state and the country, while maurya expressed confidence that the BJP has earned the public's trust through its commitment to governance and security, leaving the opposition with no solid issues to campaign on, which is why they're resorting to spreading confusion.
