Kiren Rijiju Slams Opposition: You Won't Be Able To Listen When Amit Shah Responds

Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju expressed strong resentment on Friday over the continuous disruptions in Parliament. While lashing out at the opposition parties, he issued a stern warning, stating that on the day Home Minister Amit Shah stands up to respond in the House, the opposition will find it impossible to even listen. The ongoing Monsoon Session has witnessed persistent chaos in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, leading to frequent adjournments and a complete deadlock in legislative proceedings, while despite several attempts by the government to resolve the impasse and ensure the smooth functioning of the House, all efforts have proved futile so far.

The Deadlock in Parliament and Opposition Demands

The confrontation between the government and the opposition has reached a boiling point. The opposition parties have been adamant in their demand for a discussion on the issue of alleged donation theft at the Ram Mandir. They've specifically demanded a statement from Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the floor of the House regarding this matter. However, Kiren Rijiju has clarified the government's stance, asserting that the responsibility of responding in the House lies with the minister whose department is concerned with the specific issue. He emphasized that the opposition doesn't have the authority to dictate which minister should appear or when they should speak. Rijiju stated that it isn't for the opposition to decide these procedural matters.

Rijiju's Sharp Attack on Congress and Opposition

Amidst the ongoing uproar, Kiren Rijiju launched a scathing attack on the Congress and other opposition parties. He remarked that shouting slogans and creating a ruckus has become a habit for the opposition. Highlighting the stature of the Home Minister, Rijiju said that even extremists and terrorists tremble at the mere mention of Amit Shah's name. He warned that the day the Home Minister gives his statement in the House, the difficulties for the opposition will increase Notably, and they won't be able to bear his response, while he reiterated that the minister whose work is being discussed is the one who provides the answer, and the opposition can't interfere in this established practice.

Delimitation and Women's Reservation: Crucial Issues

Kiren Rijiju further mentioned that the government has several important bills lined up for introduction. He made an appeal to the opposition, specifically pointing out that the newly elected MPs of the Congress party aren't getting any opportunity to speak in the House, while he blamed the senior leaders of the Congress for this situation, stating that their constant disruptions prevent new leaders from participating in debates. Rijiju raised the issues of Delimitation and Women's Reservation, calling them extremely important. He accused the Congress of opposing these measures, describing their stance as a betrayal of the women of the country, while he stated that everyone is aware of the government's resolve and that the Congress will have to face the consequences of its anti-women stance. Reports suggest that the government may soon bring the Delimitation Bill to Parliament, and sources indicate that there is sufficient support for this bill.

Demand for an Apology Over Disruptions

The Union Minister noted that the level of discussion in Parliament has decreased due to the sloganeering and chaos created by the opposition and the Congress party. Although the House proceedings are technically ongoing and bills are being passed, the quality and duration of discussions have suffered. Rijiju pointed out that Home Minister Amit Shah remains in Parliament from morning until late at night, and the opposition's "drama" must stop. He explained that the duration for which a minister speaks in the House is determined by the House with the approval of the Speaker, and it isn't something the opposition can decide. Rijiju concluded by saying that when Amit Shah speaks, the opposition will have to sit quietly and listen. He predicted that they would eventually flee the House because they won't be able to handle the response, and they will ultimately have to apologize for the many days of disruption they've caused.
