International / Lahore-Wagah shuttle train service resumed after 22 years, will make three trips daily

Islamabad: Pakistan has resumed Lahore-Wagah shuttle train service after 22 years. Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid formally inaugurated the train on Saturday. After the resumption of this train, now passengers going from Lahore to Wagah border will take less time. This shuttle service will make three trips daily. In this, one thousand passengers will be able to go to Wagah. For this, passengers will have to pay 30 rupees per person fare.  

Large number of people come to see the daily parade of soldiers on the Wagah border. Due to the shutdown of the shuttle service, people had to go there by bus. In this case, time used to be more.

Now the train service will be started, people will save time. This train service continued till 1997. But then it was closed due to operational and security reasons.   

 Railway Minister said- Train will start between Lahore-Raiwind within 15 days

Sheikh Rashid says that he wants to connect Lahore with the suburbs of the country through the rail route. Lahore-Wagah shuttle service is the first step in this.

After this, another train will start from Lahore to Raiwind within the next 15 days. At the same time, train service will start between Lahore to Gujranwala in January. It will be flagged off by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
