Maharashtra may again impose lockdown

The state government held a cabinet meeting on Thursday (June 24) on the issue after cases of Delta Plus variant in Maharashtra were reported in several districts of Maharashtra. In the meeting, once again the imposition of lockdown in the entire state was discussed. In the meeting, the state health ministry briefed the experts and ministers on the issue of the new edition and expressed serious concern over its presence. It is being told that if the situation continues like this, then restrictions can be announced soon.

Delta Plus variant has reached 7 districts of Maharashtra

According to the Times Now report, earlier, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope had told that the Delta Plus variant has knocked in seven districts of the state and many cases have been reported. Along with this, he had also said that the authorities are isolating such cases and doing contact tracing by extracting the details of the travel history of the infected.

No one died due to Delta variant

Rajesh Tope said that the state government has decided to send samples for genome sequence study. He further said, 'So far no patient infected with the Delta Plus variant has died. The symptoms and treatment for this type are similar. No child has been infected with the new variant. The Health Minister has directed the officials to closely monitor the cases of the Delta Plus variant, as there is a need to collect and study the information on these cases.

Orders to focus on these 7 districts

Along with this, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has ordered the officials to focus on the seven districts of the state, where the infection rate is high. CM Thackeray also stressed on the fact that there should be no rush in easing restrictions if there is a risk of spreading the virus. Talking to the collectors of Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Hingoli districts, the Chief Minister said that in view of the possibility of third wave in all the districts, a plan should be made to set up oxygen beds, ICU beds, field hospitals.

60 lakh people have been infected in Maharashtra

Meanwhile, 9844 new cases of corona virus were registered in Maharashtra on Thursday, while 197 patients succumbed to the infection. The Health Department said in a statement that so far a total of 60 lakh 7 thousand 431 people have been infected with this epidemic in the state. On the other hand, 773 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Mumbai on Thursday and 10 deaths occurred. After this the number of infections has gone up to 7 lakh 22 thousand 736, while the death toll has gone up to 15 thousand 348.
