Major Road Accident in China: China's state media CCTV reported that dozens of vehicles crashed on a bridge in the central Chinese city of Zhengzhou in Henan province on Wednesday morning due to extreme fog conditions. In pictures and videos on social media, several cars and trucks can be seen ramming into each other and piling up on the Zhengxin Huanghe Bridge. According to CCTV, several people were injured at the accident site and the fire department was engaged in bridge relief and rescue work.

According to local television, the preliminary estimate of the rescue team that arrived at the scene is that more than 200 vehicles were involved in the accident. The injured were sent to the hospital for treatment. According to a statement issued by Zhengzhou traffic authorities, local traffic police banned all vehicles from passing through the bridge two hours ago due to foggy weather.

CCTV reported that several collisions occurred in north-to-south and south-to-north directions near the middle line of Zhengxin Huanghe Bridge. The Zhengxin Huanghe Bridge is a major overpass across the Yellow River, connecting Zhengzhou and neighboring Xinjiang.

A video of about 42 seconds on China's Twitter-like Weibo platform showed a line of damaged cars and trucks, with people taking videos and photos on the bridge. A driver who appears to be filming says, 'It's very scary. It is full of people. I don't think we can get off the bridge.'
