Lok Sabha Election: The meeting of I.N.D.I.A alliance is going to be held on 1st June. In such a situation, speculations were being made that TMC supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is angry with the INDIA alliance, will not participate. But now Mamata Banerjee herself has put an end to these speculations. Addressing a gathering, Mamata Banerjee said that the India Bloc had earlier said that they would hold a meeting on June 1.

This was the reason given for not being able to attend the meeting

Mamta Banerjee further said that on this I told her that I cannot attend this meeting because we will still have elections like some other states. On one hand I am dealing with the cyclone and the relief center and on the other hand I am dealing with the elections. How can I go in such a situation? My priority is to ensure relief for the people. I am holding a meeting here but my thoughts are with the affected people.

Congress President called a meeting

Earlier, quoting sources, it was being reported that Trinamool Congress (TMC) is unlikely to attend the India Block meeting on June 1, because this meeting has been scheduled on the day of voting for the last phase of the current Lok Sabha elections. Which has now been confirmed by Mamta's statement. According to sources, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has called a meeting of the leaders of the I.N.D.I.A alliance on the afternoon of June 1.

Voting is to be held on these seats

Please note that on June 1, voting will be held on 9 seats in West Bengal, including two seats in Kolkata - Kolkata South and Kolkata North, which are very important for TMC. In West Bengal, voting is to be held in Jadavpur, Dum Dum, Barasat, Basirhat, Jaynagar, Mathurapur, Diamond Harbour, Kolkata South and Kolkata North on the day of the meeting i.e. June 1.
