An important step in the process of becoming a Mahamandleshwar is the application and verification process. Initially, trust is placed in the guru of the applicant, but if there are any doubts, the Akhada Parishad collects detailed information about the individual, including their family, village, tehsil, and police station. This includes background checks regarding any criminal history, family history, and other aspects. Only upon obtaining correct information is the initiation granted.Steps in the Process of Becoming a Mahamandleshwar:
- Application: The individual first needs to apply to the Akhada.
- Initiation and Becoming a Saint: After initiation, the person is granted the status of a saint.
- Pinddaan and Tarpan: During renunciation, the person must give away their wealth for the public good. Afterward, a shaving and bathing ceremony is performed by the river, followed by the pinddaan for the family.
- Guru Initiation: After receiving initiation from the guru, the disciple’s hair is shaved, and they are anointed with Panchamrit (holy water).
- Final Step: Finally, the individual must renounce their identity and immerse themselves completely in spirituality.
