PM Modi In Manipur / 'Manipur is a jewel on the crown of Mother India', PM Modi said in Imphal

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched several development projects in Manipur, including a Rs 3,600 crore Urban Roads Project and a Rs 500 crore Infotech Project. He said these schemes will boost employment, infrastructure and ease of living. Modi also gave a message of peace and development.

PM Modi In Manipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a visit to Manipur today, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several important development projects. Addressing a huge public gathering, he said, "Today, projects worth thousands of crores of rupees have been launched for the development of Manipur. These projects will enhance the ease of living of the people of Manipur, strengthen the infrastructure and create new employment opportunities for our youth."

He laid special emphasis on two major projects:

  • Manipur Urban Roads Project: The project costing over Rs 3,600 crore will further strengthen the road infrastructure in Imphal.
  • Manipur Infotech Development Project: This project costing over Rs 500 crore will take Manipur to new heights in the field of technological development.
  • "These projects will infuse new energy into the bright future of Manipur," the PM said.
Manipur is developing rapidly

The Prime Minister described the development of Manipur as a priority of the Government of India. He said, "The 21st century is the century of the Northeast, and Manipur is leading it. Before 2014, Manipur's growth rate was less than 1%, but today the state is progressing faster than ever before."

He also mentioned the ongoing efforts to solve problems like floods. Also, mentioning the construction of Manipur Bhawans in Kolkata and Delhi, he said that these buildings will provide affordable and safe housing to the people of Manipur, especially girl students. This will reduce the worries of parents.

Manipur benefits from reduction in GST

PM Modi also mentioned the reduction in GST rates, which will provide relief to the people of Manipur in the prices of everyday items, cement and construction materials. He said, "Hotels, dhabas, taxis and guest houses will also benefit from the reduction in GST. It will also help in promoting tourism in Manipur."

Nari Shakti and Ima Bazaar

Appreciating the important role of Manipuri women in the economy, the PM said, "The tradition of Ima Keithel is a symbol of the Nari Shakti of Manipur. Our government has started special Haat Bazaars and Ima Bazaars for women." During this, four new Ima Bazaars were also inaugurated, which will provide new opportunities and support to the women of Manipur.

Need for peace and development in Manipur

The Prime Minister described the recent violence in Manipur as unfortunate and said, "Manipur is the jewel of Mother India. The violence here is injustice to our ancestors and future generations. We have to take Manipur forward together on the path of peace and development."
