12 crore people did not take second dose

The government said in the Lok Sabha on Friday that as on November 30, a total of 12.5 crore people in the country have not taken the second dose of Kovid vaccine even after the completion of the prescribed period after taking the first dose of Kovid vaccine. This information was given by the Union Minister of State for Health, Bharti Praveen Pawar in a written reply to a question. He was asked how many people in the country have not taken the second dose of Kovid-19 vaccine even after the completion of the prescribed period.

He said that as on 30th November, a total of 12.5 crore people in the country have not yet taken the second dose of Kovid vaccine after the completion of the prescribed period after taking the first dose of Kovid vaccine. To a question whether the government has made any plan to identify and reach out to such people, Pawar said the central government has started the 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign from November 3 in which those people who have done the first job are to be identified. Have not taken a dose or need to take another dose. Such people will be vaccinated in this campaign.

Scientists said this on booster dose

Amid calls for a booster dose against COVID-19, India's top genome scientists have said that a 'booster' (third) dose may be "considered" for people aged 40 and above. He said that people in this age group are more prone to catch the infection. This suggestion has been made in the weekly bulletin of the 'Indian SARS Cov-2 Genomics Consortium' (INSACOG). INSACOG was set up by the government to analyze the genome sequencing of COVID-19.

"Those who are at high risk may be considered vaccinated and 'booster' doses for those 40 years of age or older," the INSACOG bulletin said. First of all, target those who are most at risk of getting infected. It has been recommended after INSACOG stated that genomic surveillance for early detection of such presence would be critical to streamline necessary public health measures.
