Auto / Maruti Jimny 5 Door unveiled in Auto Expo 2023

Maruti Jimny 5 Door unveiled: Maruti Suzuki has finally introduced the Jimny 5-Door SUV at the Auto Expo 2023. It is an extended version of the company's 3 door Jimny present in the global market. It has been given a 1.5 liter K15B engine. The company will manufacture this car at its plant located in Gujarat and from here it will be sold in India and abroad. The company has started taking bookings for the new Jimny from today itself. Delivery is likely to start soon. It will compete with Mahindra Thar.

Look and Design

This is the first car from Maruti, which comes with 4X4. It provides seating for 5 people. In terms of dimensions, it measures 3,985mm in length, 1,645mm in width and 1,720mm in height. Its ground clearance is of 210mm. The approach angle of the Jimny is 36 degrees, the ramp break-over angle is 24 degrees and the departure angle is 50 degrees. Maruti Suzuki has brought it in 7 color options, out of which 5 will be monotone and 2 will be dual tone shades.

Cabin & Interior

The cabin of the 5 door Jimny is largely similar to the three-door version. It gets a 9.0-inch Smart Play Pro+ infotainment system and Arkamys surround sound system with connectivity like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also gets remote options that show the location of the vehicle and other important updates. Safety has also been taken care of in Jimny. It also gets 6 airbags, brake limited slip differential (LSD), ESP with hill hold assist, hill descent control, rearview camera and ABS with EBD.

Engine & Power

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny gets a 1.5-litre four-cylinder K15C Dualjet petrol engine. The same engine is found in the Ertiga, XL6, and Brezza. With a mild-hybrid system, this engine generates 104.8 PS of power and 134.2 Nm of torque. It can also get a 4-speed torque converter along with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
