The issue of arbitrariness of private hospitals in the capital Delhi is once again in the headlines. Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are demanding regulation on private hospitals in the country after Max Hospital in Delhi's Saket caught a bill of Rs 1 crore 60 lakh to a corona patient. The victim corona patient was admitted to the hospital on 28 April. While discharging the patient on September 6, the hospital caught a bill of more than 1.5 crores. After which the relatives of the patient went to Aam Aadmi Party leader Somnath Bharti, MLA from Malviya Nagar. After which Somnath Bharti talked to the hospital.

Somnath Bharti said, "It is a very surprising issue. There is a bill of 1 crore 60 lakhs. So much money was charged from a corona patient. If you ask for so much money from anyone, it will be disturbed. I asked the hospital Said what have you put in the body that the bill has come to more than one crore. I asked them to give a discount."

Life saving credit needed!

Somnath Bharti further said, 'The response of the hospital was very heartless. The hospital said that life has been saved, is it not a big deal. I told him that there are many people whose lives could not be saved. Are you responsible for them? He is the only person who has survived after using ECMO in Max Hospital. Max wants credit for this. So if you are taking the credit for this, then you will also have to take the credit of those who died. At such a time when your family members are in the hospital, the hospital is ready to give whatever money a person asks for. Charging such a bill by the hospital in such an emotional moment is a big deal in itself and very condemnable.

Somnath Bharti also spoke to the Health Minister and Manish Tewari. He also raised this point. It should be thoroughly investigated. During the time of Karona, the Delhi government had capped the prices that the hospital would take a special charge from the corona patient during the ICU and a special charge for the normal bed. Was the capped price taken into account in this case? After checking, it will be seen that where the mistake has happened, who did it. Another thing is that the use of Acmo is allowed only for 28 days but they used on the patient for 52 days. The patient is saved only by the blessings of God.

1 lakh discount on 1 crore 60 lakh bill...

Somnath Bharti says that we have all the evidence but because the treatment is still being done from there, so the family is under pressure. He doesn't want any controversy. We respect their privacy, but the issue is also that no one gets involved with the hospital at such a time. Despite this, he has told me that the bill has been made in this way in the hospital. The worst part is that even after I told them, they gave a discount of 1 lakh. Out of 1 crore 60 lakh bills, only one lakh rupees were reduced. I said that take this one lakh also from me and give them the full money.

He further said, the hospital should understand that it is a medical service, not a business. Such has been the attitude of Max. After death, even this dead body is not given without taking money. Max should be checked. There should be an audit that how much money they took from people during Corona. At this time it is also emerging that there is no independent authority in our country which can regulate these hospitals, it is in foreign country. Congress leader Manish Tewari has also demanded and I also want that a regulatory authority should be passed by passing the bill. The BJP government should establish a regulatory authority through the bill because during Corona we saw that anything was being asked from the people and people were giving it. I request Modi ji with folded hands to pass the bill and regulate it.

Congress leader Manish Tewari also raised the question on this matter and wrote a letter to the Health Minister. Simultaneously, they demanded that such an independent institution should be formed in the country which would regulate these hospitals.

Max Hospital gave clarification

The clarification has been given by issuing a statement on behalf of Max Hospital. In its statement, the hospital has said that, "The 51-year-old patient was admitted to the hospital on April 28. The patient's condition was very critical due to Kovid pneumonia, after which he was shifted to the ICU. Seeing the helplessness, the patient was treated by ECMO. The treatment continued so that the lungs did not deteriorate further. The patient was kept in conscious state by ECMO for 75 days. The patient was removed from the ECMO on 23 July and treatment continued in the ICU. The patient's case was very serious because of covid pneumonia. Along with diabetes and other multiple complications. We kept talking to the family about the cost of Rs. The family was satisfied with the services provided to Max Hospital.

Even after cleaning the hospital, the matter remains a matter of discussion at this time. Due to this matter, the opposition parties of the country are demanding from the government to pass a bill to regulate the hospitals.
