Lok Sabha Elections: Congress is continuously attacking the Modi government on the statement of Jyoti Mirdha, BJP candidate from Nagaur, Rajasthan, about changing the Constitution. Congress said that after Anant Kumar Hegde, another BJP candidate has talked about changing the Constitution. It is clear from the statements of these two leaders that BJP and Prime Minister Modi hate the Constitution and democracy. Jyoti Mirdha says that to change the Constitution we need an overwhelming majority in both the houses. Earlier, Anant Hegde had said that if we get 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, we will change the Constitution. Congress said that Bharatiya Janata Party wants to abolish the Constitution given by Babasaheb. She wants to snatch away the rights of the people.

BJP's goal is to destroy the Constitution- Tharoor

After this statement of Jyoti Mirdha, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said, BJP's aim is to change the Constitution. How many more candidates can BJP reject to expose the truth? Let us tell you that this time BJP has canceled the ticket of six-time MP Hegde. The party had distanced itself from Hegde's statement about changing the Constitution.

Parmirda's counterattack on Tharoor's statement

At the same time, Jyoti Mirdha hit back at Shashi Tharoor's tweet and wrote, BJP's objective is to serve the national and public interest. If there is a need to amend the Constitution for those purposes then it will happen. Recently, in September last year, the Constitution was amended for the Women's Reservation Bill. There have been 106 amendments in the Constitution from 1950 to last year. Due to this historic amendment, the dream of 33 percent reservation for women in Parliament could come true.

What did Jyoti Mirdha say?

Many tough decisions have to be taken in the interest of the country. If we have to make any changes within the Constitution, then many of you would know that we need the approval of both the houses of the Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Today BJP and NDA have a strong majority in the Lok Sabha but even today we do not have a majority in the Rajya Sabha. If NDA government comes for the third time, we will amend the Constitution if necessary.
