Parliament Session / Monsoon session of Parliament will run from July 21, Kiren Rijiju gave information

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has announced that the monsoon session of Parliament will begin on July 21. During this time, Operation Sindoor will be discussed as per the rules. The opposition had demanded a special session, which the government has rejected and said that the matter will be discussed in the normal session.

Parliament Session: The monsoon session of Parliament will start from July 21 this year and will run till August 12, 2025. Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced this on Wednesday. He informed that the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, headed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, has recommended these dates. The session has been announced at a time when the opposition was constantly demanding a special session on Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack.

Government ready to discuss Operation Sindoor under the rules

After a gap of more than three months, the proceedings of both the Houses of Parliament will begin on July 21 at 11 am. Rijiju made it clear that the government is ready to discuss all important issues including Operation Sindoor under the rules. He said, "Every session is special, and we want the opposition to also participate in the discussion. We have communicated with the opposition and hope that all parties will give constructive cooperation."

However, the government has disagreed with the opposition's demand to convene a special session on Operation Sindoor. 16 opposition parties had also written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard, but the government has now made it clear by announcing the monsoon session that no separate special session will be called.

Opposition's demand and sharp questions

On Wednesday, the leaders of 'India Alliance' reiterated the demand for calling a special session of Parliament in a press conference. Congress leader Deepender Hooda had said, "The country needs answers in Parliament on Operation Sindoor, Pahalgam attack and President Trump's statements." In the same press conference, Sanjay Raut asked the government that if ceasefire can happen at Trump's behest, then why not a special session at the opposition's behest?

Pakistan and national security will be important issues

There is a possibility of discussion about Pakistan during the monsoon session. The opposition can ask the government questions on the results of Operation Sindoor, diplomacy and international support. Apart from this, a detailed debate is expected in the session on national security, economy, inflation, unemployment and recent developments.

Impeachment proceedings against Justice Verma

The pending impeachment motion against Justice Verma is likely to be brought at the beginning of the session. The government is expecting support from the opposition parties on this issue, while the opposition is also raising questions about the impeachment motion of Justice Yadav. The final decision in this regard will be taken by the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha.

Insurance Amendment Bill may also be introduced

The Insurance Amendment Bill may also be introduced in this session. It will have a provision to increase the limit of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the insurance sector to 100%. According to reports, the draft of this bill has been prepared and it will soon be presented for cabinet approval. After getting approval, this bill will be introduced in Parliament.
