Maharashtra Politics :  The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) committee on Friday passed a resolution rejecting Sharad Pawar's decision to step down as party president. A few hours later, Sharad Pawar has withdrawn his resignation. He announced at a press conference, "I am withdrawing my decision."

Announcing the withdrawal of his resignation from the post of National President of NCP, senior leader Sharad Pawar said, “I cannot insult your sentiments. Because of your love, I am honoring your demand to withdraw the resignation. Also, in view of the resolution passed today by senior leaders of NCP, I withdraw my decision to resign from the post of National President of Nationalist Congress Party.

Earlier, the NCP committee had passed a resolution rejecting Sharad Pawar's decision to step down as party president. The committee constituted to elect the new president of the party held an important meeting at its office in Mumbai on Friday morning. During this, a resolution was passed, demanding that Sharad Pawar reconsider his decision to leave the post of party president. The group of top leaders then went to meet Pawar at his Silver Oak residence.

It is known that there is talk of Sharad Pawar's daughter Supriya Sule emerging as the new national president of the party and her nephew Ajit Pawar as the Maharashtra unit chief. Some reports also indicated that Praful Patel, who is currently the National Vice President of NCP, could be the new party chief, but he denied this possibility in a press conference.

Ajit Pawar did not attend the press conference!

However, Ajit Pawar was not present in this press conference of NCP chief Sharad Pawar. So when Sharad Pawar was asked about the absence of Chhote Pawar, he said “Everyone cannot be present in a press conference. Some people are here and some people are not. But this morning senior party leaders took a unanimous decision and conveyed it to me. Everyone expressed their feelings through that decision. So, it is not the right thing to raise the question of who is present here and who is not or to interpret it.”
