New Startup Policy / New entrepreneurs in Delhi will get loans without guarantee, three committees will be formed for the scheme

The Kejriwal government has taken a big step towards making Delhi a startup hub. Under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the cabinet approved the proposal related to the Delhi Startup Policy-2021 of the Industries Department. Now the Delhi government will also provide loans and other facilities to the people starting their enterprise without guarantee.


Kejriwal said, Delhi will now have its own startup policy. Business Blaster and Entrepreneurship courses will now be started in colleges to make children skilled. In college, children will prepare business ideas and the government will help. Not only this, if a college student wants to start a startup, then he will also be able to take leave of one to two years. In this, the government will help the youth to start their own enterprise.


No interest for one year

The loan will be interest free for one year. The government can pay half the rent for working in a rented place. Employees will also get some part of the salary as financial help. If the entrepreneur applies for patents, trademarks and copyrights, the government will refund the fees. -Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister


Three committees will be formed to implement the policy

Three committees will be formed to implement the startup policy. First, the Startup Policy Monitoring Committee will be headed by the Finance Minister of Delhi Government. It will be attended by the Industries Minister of Delhi Government and senior representatives of other state departments as members. At the same time, the Industries Minister of Delhi Government will appoint an officer to chair the Startup Task Force. The committee will have 5 per cent government representatives, 10 per cent educational institutions and 85 per cent from the private sector. The main function of the committee would be to evaluate and approve the applications of recognized entrepreneurs, startups and incubators, while a cell under the supervision of the Department of Industries in the nodal agency would be to implement the startup policy. It will have direct contact with startups and stakeholders.


This will encourage

  • Reimbursement of up to 50% on lease rentals. This can be up to a maximum of Rs 5 lakh every year.
  • Reimbursement grants up to one lakh rupees (in India) and three lakh rupees (abroad) for making patents, trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs.
  • Reimbursement of cost of exhibition stall or rent once in a year up to Rs 5 lakh or up to 50 per cent for others and 100 per cent for women, disadvantaged class or persons with disabilities.
  • 30 thousand per month as monthly allowance for operation or employee for one year.
  • Token prizes to the winners and selected people of competitive events.
  • Scholarships for educational fees of winning students, financial assistance for fabrication labs and co-working space, internet charges can also be given, subject to a maximum of 50 per cent up to Rs 2.5 lakh per annum. This facility will be for three years.
