The Union Minister said that it will be made mandatory to have 6 airbags in the car and this process is going on. Nitin Gadkari has been advocating for 6 airbags in vehicles for a long time. In Parliament also, Gadkari had said that the cost of airbags is only Rs 900 and the safety of those who sit in the back of the vehicle is also necessary.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a big statement after the death of former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry in a road accident. He said that the traffic flow on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai highway is very high and hence it is also very dangerous. Gadkari said that the highway on which Mistry's accident took place was built by him. At that time Gadkari was the Minister of Public Works Department in the Government of Maharashtra.

Regarding road accidents, Gadkari said that India has become the country with the second largest road network in the world but a lot remains to be done. More than five lakh accidents take place here every year and more than one and a half lakh people die in these. Of these, 65 percent of those who die are those who are between 18 and 34 years of age. He said, we want that by the end of 2024, road accidents in the country should be halved. Work has been started in this direction.
