Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai is married during a small ceremony in Birmingham. Malala has given this information by posting pictures of the wedding on social media. Posting the pictures, Malala wrote that she got married at home and is looking forward to life ahead.

Malala wrote on Twitter, "Today is a very special day in my life, Asr and I have got married. We completed the Nikah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please give us your prayers. Together in the journey ahead." We're excited to go."

Her husband Asar, her parents, Ziauddin Yousafzai and Toor Pekai Yousafzai are seen in pictures posted by Malala.

Malala was shot by the Pakistani Taliban for promoting girls' education; Malala was shot in the head in a school bus in 2012 at the age of 15. She recovered after months of treatment abroad and became world famous after co-writing a memoir titled I am Malala Hoon.

Malala Yousafzai was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014 at the age of 17, sharing the award with India's child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi. Malala graduated from Oxford University last year with degrees in philosophy, politics and economics.

She is now 24 and advocates for girls' education, with her non-profit Malala Fund investing $2 million in Afghanistan.
