Cold continues in Delhi-NCR. Fog alert continues, and rain is expected on January 21-22. Cold winds and cold day conditions also persist in UP, Bihar, and MP. Temperatures have dropped in Himachal, Kashmir, Punjab, and Haryana, increasing the cold.

Delhi Weather Update: Cold wave continues to prevail in most parts of North India including Delhi-NCR. The Meteorological Department has issued a dense fog alert in Delhi-NCR for the next two days. Along with this, rain is expected on 21 and 22 January. The cold is likely to increase further due to rain. In this situation, the residents of Delhi-NCR have no hope of relief from the cold.

Effect of cold winds and fog in UP

Along with cold, dense fog and cold winds continue in Uttar Pradesh as well. Due to western disturbance, light rain and fog will affect many parts of the state from January 18 to 21. The Lucknow-based Meteorological Center said that on Friday, the lowest temperature of 6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Etawah, while the highest temperature of 21.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Banda.

Effect of cold wave in Bihar

There is no hope of relief from cold in Bihar as well. The Meteorological Department has predicted a drop of 2-3 degrees in the minimum temperature in the state for the next three days. Cold day conditions will prevail in most parts. Cold day conditions may continue till January 19. However, the weather is likely to improve after January 26.

Temperature drops in MP

Temperature has dropped in many districts of Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain and fog in Gwalior, Rewa, and Ujjain divisions in the next 24 hours. Dense fog and cold alert has been issued in Bhopal, Rajgarh, Gwalior, and other districts.

Cold wave in Rajasthan and Himachal

The effect of dense fog and cold wave was seen in Bikaner, Jaipur, Kota, and Bharatpur in Rajasthan. At the same time, cold wave conditions persisted in the high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh.

Temperature drops in Kashmir, Punjab and Haryana

The minimum temperature has dropped drastically after snowfall in Kashmir. The minimum temperature in Pathankot, Punjab was recorded at 2.8 degrees Celsius, while it was 8.5 degrees Celsius in Ambala, Haryana.
