Bihar Reservation Bill: After the big announcement of CM Nitish regarding reservation in Bihar, now people will start getting the benefit of 75 percent reservation. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's government has published a gazette regarding reservation. According to which, from today onwards, Scheduled Caste/Tribe, EBC and OBC will start getting the benefit of 75 percent reservation in all the educational institutions and jobs of Bihar. It has been implemented from Tuesday (21 November). Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar has given his approval to the bill to increase the scope of reservation to 75 percent. Let us tell you that the Bihar government has increased the limit of reservation by 15 percent.

Who will get how much reservation?

Let us know who will benefit and how much after the implementation of reservation bill in Bihar, then know that SC will get 20 percent benefit, ST will get 2 percent benefit, extremely backward class will get 25 percent benefit, backward class will get 18 percent reservation benefit. Along with this, the provision of 10 percent reservation for the economically weaker section of the general category will remain applicable. After the implementation of this bill, backward classes, Dalits and Mahadalits will also get the benefit of reservation in educational institutions and government jobs. Students of this category will also benefit in admission in government colleges and universities.

Reservation bill was introduced in the winter session

The Bihar government had introduced the Reservation Amendment Bill 2023 during the winter session of the Assembly, after which the bill was approved by both the Houses on November 9. Under this, there was a provision to increase the scope of reservation to 75 percent. The biggest thing was that this bill was also supported by the main opposition party of the state, BJP. As soon as this bill was passed, Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar has given his approval to the Reservation Bill-2023.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had announced in the House on November 7 that the 60 percent reservation system in the state would be increased to 75 percent. After this, the CM called a cabinet meeting and the cabinet approved the proposal to increase the scope of reservation. After getting approval from the Cabinet, it was passed by both the Houses on November 9.
