A strong earthquake was felt in Iran on Thursday after a powerful earthquake in Japan on Wednesday. Its intensity was measured at 6 on the Richter scale. Bullet train derailed in Japan after a 7.1 magnitude earthquake. There, 4 people died and 90 were injured due to the earthquake. There is no news of loss of life or property in Iran yet.

Strong earthquake tremors were felt in southern Iran on Thursday morning. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 km from the earth. The news of the earthquake in Iran was given by the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences.

Tremors felt throughout the night

The earthquake in Japan occurred at 8.06 pm on Wednesday night. Its center was 297 km from Tokyo. Widespread devastation has been reported in East Japan. The tremors hit large parts of eastern Japan overnight. The intensity of some aftershocks was rated up to 7.4. Drone images show a bullet train derailed in Shiroshi, Miyagi Prefecture.

According to the Tokyo Electric Power Company, about two million homes in Japan have lost electricity due to the earthquake. The tremors of the earthquake were very strong. After which a tsunami alert was issued.

Tsunami came 11 years ago

An earthquake struck Japan a few days after the 2011 disaster completed 11 years. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no longer a tsunami threat. However, the Japan Meteorological Department has issued a low danger warning. Earthquake tremors were also felt in eastern Japan, including Tokyo.
