Indian Railways: Indian Railways' proposal for redevelopment of railway stations of New Delhi, Ahmedabad and Mumbai has been approved. About Rs 10,000 crore is being invested in the redevelopment project.


Major railway stations of the country are going to be rejuvenated. Now these railway stations will look luxurious like airport.


Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in the briefing after the Union Cabinet meeting that the heritage building of CSMT would not be touched, but the surrounding buildings would be redeveloped.


Ashwini Vaishnav shared pictures related to it on Twitter. He also thanked PM Modi for the approval for the redevelopment of New Delhi, Ahmedabad and CSMT Mumbai railway stations.


New Delhi, Ahmedabad and CSMT, Mumbai will be redeveloped in about 2 years to 3.5 years. This proposal has been approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


The development of these stations will generate 35,744 new employment opportunities. Along with this, the local economy will be strengthened through investment and other business opportunities.


In the first phase, there is a plan to redevelop 199 stations with a strength of 50 lakhs per day. Tender has been issued for 47 stations, work is going on 32 stations, the target is to complete the redevelopment of New Delhi station in three and a half years.


The Railway Minister has shared some designs on Twitter, in which it can be clearly seen that retail, cafeteria and recreational facilities have been kept in mind.


All passenger amenities will be taken into account in this project. Now if your train takes time to arrive or you have reached the station early, then it will be comfortable for you to spend time here.


Under this, roof plazas will be built at these stations. There is also a food court and small children's play area. Also, full care will be taken of cleanliness.


This step has been taken to improve rail transport services. Work is being done for the development of railways in a systematic way to make every facility accessible to the passenger.
