App best cab service company Uber has increased the fare in Mumbai by 15 percent. The company has said in its statement that the increasing petrol prices are affecting the driver, so the fare is being increased by 15 percent. Significantly, the price of petrol in Mumbai has reached Rs 116.72 while diesel has reached Rs 100.94. Since March 22, the price of oil in the country has increased by Rs 6.40.

Nitish Bhushan, Head of Central Operations, Uber India and South Asia, issued a statement saying that Uber is increasing the fare in Mumbai by 15 percent. He further said that this is being done so that the cab drivers are not affected by the rising oil prices. We were getting feedback from drivers that due to rising oil prices, it is becoming difficult to ply cabs at the old rate. Uber also said that the company will keep an eye on oil prices in the coming few weeks and will make further decisions on fares accordingly.

Significantly, the prices of petrol and diesel are increasing continuously in India. On Friday, March 31, the prices of petrol and diesel have increased by 80 paise. India imports more than 80 percent of its petrol and diesel from abroad. Due to the Russo-Ukraine war, the prices of crude oil in the international market had increased very rapidly in the past, but now the price of oil in the international market has reached below $ 100 per barrel. On the other hand, India is buying crude oil in large quantities from Russia at cheap prices. It is expected that in the coming days, the public will get some relief from expensive petrol and diesel.
