He stated that according to the preliminary reports, 40 people died and eight others were injured. He further emphasized that the district administrations of both Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, along with rescue teams and other relevant departments, are working in coordination to provide all necessary assistance to the affected families, while the 1122 rescue team confirmed that there were 48 people on board when the incident occurred. Interestingly, a report by the Dawn newspaper mentioned that the bus had initially departed from Quetta with 36 passengers, and the remaining individuals boarded the bus during the journey. Wali Khan Kakar, the Deputy Commissioner of Sherani district, noted that the process of identifying the deceased and the injured is currently underway.
