India's efforts are multifaceted: PM Modi

In his address, PM Modi said, 'Be it Swachh Bharat Mission or programs related to waste to wealth, construction of modern sewage treatment plants in cities under AMRUT Mission, or campaign to get rid of single use plastic or Ganga under Namami Gange. India's efforts to protect the environment, the campaign of cleanliness, have been multi-faceted. We are connecting the people of the country with water conservation through campaigns like Catch the Rain.

'Emphasis on making soil chemical free'

During this, PM Modi also said that in March this year itself, the campaign for conservation of 13 big rivers has also started in the country. In this, along with reducing pollution in the water, work is also being done to plant forests on the banks of rivers. In this year's budget, we have decided that we will encourage natural farming in the villages situated on the banks of Ganga, will make a huge corridor of natural farming. With this our fields will not only be chemical free, Namami Gange campaign will also get new strength.

save soil like this

While advocating for saving soil, PM Modi said, 'To save the soil, we have focused our attention on 5 things. The first is how to make the soil chemical free. Second- how to save the creatures that live in the soil. Third- How to maintain soil moisture, how to increase the availability of water till it. Fourth- How to remove the damage that is being done to the soil due to less groundwater. And the most important fifth is how to stop the continuous erosion of the soil due to the reduction of the forest cover. For working together on all these fronts, the PM has praised people's movements like Save Soil.

'India's resolve'

PM Modi also said, 'India has led the creation of CDRI and International Solar Alliance at the international level. Last year, India has also resolved that India will achieve the target of Net Zero by 2070. India is also working on restoring 26 million hectares of barren land by 2030. In such a situation, today India is constantly emphasizing on new innovations and pro environment technology to protect the environment.

The Prime Minister said, 'India is making this effort when India's role in climate change is negligible. Large modern countries of the world are not only exploiting more and more resources of the earth, but maximum carbon emission goes to their account.
