Independence Day 2025: India is celebrating its 79th Independence Day on 15 August 2025. There is an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm across the country about this historic day. The main ceremony will be held at the historic Red Fort in Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the tricolor for the 12th consecutive time and address the nation.

Ceremony at Red Fort

7:30 pm: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Red Fort, where he will be welcomed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior officials.

7:35 pm: PM Modi will inspect the Guard of Honour and visit the ramparts of the Red Fort.

7:37 pm: National salute will be given by the National Flag Guard. The Indian Air Force band will present the national anthem, which for the first time will include Agniveers.

7:40 pm: Pushpa Varsha will be done by two MI-17 helicopters. One helicopter will fly carrying the tricolour and the other carrying the flag of 'Operation Sindoor'.

7:45 pm: PM Modi will address the nation, in which he will share the achievements of the government and his vision for the future.

Celebrating the success of Operation Sindoor

This year, the success of 'Operation Sindoor' will be specially highlighted in the Independence Day celebrations. This operation reflects the security and strategic strength of the country. On this occasion, the band presenting the national anthem will for the first time have the participation of Agniveers, which symbolize the youthful energy and dedication in the armed forces.
