Uttarakhand Global Investor: After inaugurating the Uttarakhand Global Investor Summit 2023 on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the doors of investment are opening in Uttarakhand. Developed India is the responsibility of all of us. He also said that 'Wed in India' movement should be started on the lines of 'Make in India'. Attention should be paid to making the country, especially Uttarakhand, a wedding destination.

Apart from PM Modi, thousands of investors and representatives from all over the world are participating in the two-day summit organized in Dehradun. Along with this, Union Ministers and ambassadors of many countries are also participating. Many prominent industrialists are also coming to this summit. Along with Tata Group, Reliance and Adani Group, investors from many countries are also coming here.

In his address after the inauguration, PM Modi said that the third decade of the 21st century is the decade of Uttarakhand. I am happy to see that statement of mine continuously being implemented. I especially congratulate everyone including the state government for the campaign to evacuate the tunnel from Uttarkashi recently. Today, Uttarakhand is an example of the mantra with which India is moving forward, both development and heritage. He said that developed India is the responsibility of all of us.

Calling upon the country, especially Uttarakhand, to become a wedding destination, PM Modi said that we should run a movement like 'Make in India' or 'Wed in India'. Meaning get married in India. He said, “I would like you to have a destination wedding of your family in Uttarakhand in the coming five years. If even 5 thousand marriages start taking place here in a year, then a new infrastructure will be created and the world's weddings will start taking place here.”

He said that there is unprecedented enthusiasm among both Indian people and foreigners to see today's India. We are preparing theme based tourism circuits across the country. Our effort is to introduce the world to both the nature and heritage of India. In this campaign, Uttarakhand is going to emerge as a strong brand of tourism.

Attacking the previous governments, PM Modi said that the people have given the mandate for a stable government. The day is not far when their distance from Delhi and Dehradun Expressway will reduce to 2.30 hours. Modern connectivity is making life as well as business easier. He further said that the approach of the earlier government was that the border states should have minimal access. But now the double engine government has changed this kind of thinking. We are developing the border states not as the last village but as the first village of the country.

Praising Uttarakhand, PM Modi said, “Uttarakhand is that state, where you experience both divinity and development together. I have closely observed the sentiments and possibilities of Uttarakhand. I have lived it, experienced it as well.” He said that today India is moving forward with the mantra of development as well as heritage, Uttarakhand is a great example of that.

Before the summit, Chief Minister Dhami also conducted road shows in many cities of the country as well as in London and Birmingham to attract global investors to the state.

Six prominent industrialists will also give speeches in the summit and during this time they will present their vision on the investment possibilities in Uttarakhand. Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani and Baba Ramdev and other big names will deliver speeches. After this, PM Modi will give a speech at 11:30.
