Rajasthan Student Election 2022: The wait of lakhs of students who have been waiting for the student union elections for the last two years is over, in the past, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had given instructions to conduct student union elections this year. On Friday, the election program for the year 2022 student union election has been released by the Higher Education Department. The election program from August 18 to August 27 has been released by the Higher Education Department. Along with this, voting for the student union elections will be held on August 26, while on August 27, after the counting of votes, the swearing-in of the winning candidates will also be held.

Announcement of dates of student union election in Higher Education Department

  • Voter lists will be published on August 18
  • Objection will be taken on voter lists from 10 am to 1 am on August 20
  • Nominations will be filed on 22nd August from 10 am to 3 pm
  • Scrutiny of candidates' nomination papers and objections will be received on August 22
  • Valid nomination list will be published on August 23
  • August 23, from 11 am to 2 pm, the time for withdrawal of nominations by the candidates will be
  • student union elections will be held on 26 august
  • Counting of votes will start from 10 am on August 27
According to the guidelines issued by the Higher Education Department, the voter lists will be published on August 18. After this, the final voter list will be issued on August 20, candidates will be able to file nominations on August 22. The objection will be taken only on 22nd August. With the release of the final nomination list on August 23, candidates will be able to withdraw their nominations, while voting will be done on August 26. Counting and result will come on 27th August.

In the year 2020, Corona had given a knock in the state, due to which the student union elections were not being held for the last two years. The task force constituted by the governor had also suggested not to hold the student union elections. Let us tell that lakhs of students join the elections in universities across the state including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Rajasthan University alone has about 28 thousand students as voters. Students union elections in Rajasthan have been considered the first step in politics, even in the current government, many ministers and MLAs have entered active politics by winning the election of student union president in various universities.
