Pro tem speaker Banshidhar Bhagat administered the oath to the newly elected MLAs of the fifth assembly of Uttarakhand except Tilak Raj Behad of Congress. Newly elected MLA Anupama Rawat was the first to take oath. Tilak Raj Behad could not reach the swearing-in ceremony due to some reason.MLA Ritu Khanduri and Maharaj took oath in Sanskrit and Kishore Upadhyay in Garhwali. Earlier, Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Seni) had administered the oath of pro tem speaker to Banshidhar Bhagat. In the assembly elections this time 47 candidates of BJP, 19 of Congress, two from BSP and two independent candidates have won the elections. After taking oath, the Speaker will be elected by the members.
