Guwahati: The All Assam Student Union (AASU) called an 11-hour shutdown in Guwahati on Tuesday. The reason for this is the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday night. The markets remained closed in support of the student's protest, while arson was also held during protests in Dibrugarh and Jorhat. On the call of Asu, the market was said to be closed from 5 am to 4 pm.

Actually, people living in the North East states are afraid of losing their identity. Many organizations in the region started opposing the bill at their own level.
