Pakistan Election: A lot of time has passed since the elections were held in Pakistan but till now the government has not been formed there. There have been allegations of rigging in the elections and no party has got majority. Efforts are going on to form a coalition government in the country. Meanwhile, Chaudhary Muhammad Adnan, a former member of parliamentary affairs (MPA) of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been shot dead by unknown assailants in Rawalpindi. News agency Dawn gave this news on Monday quoting Rawalpindi Police.

Murder investigation underway

According to police reports, former Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member of parliamentary affairs (MPA) Chaudhry Muhammad Adnan had contested the general elections as an independent candidate from NA-57 and PP-19 constituencies of Rawalpindi. According to a statement from the Rawalpindi Police spokesperson, the incident of murder of the leader took place in the Civil Lines area in front of the City Police Officer (CPO) office. Police spokesperson said that Rawalpindi CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani has directed Potohar SP to immediately arrest the criminals involved in the incident.

Police said - the culprits will be arrested soon

Furthermore, according to the statement, senior police officers rushed to the crime scene upon receiving information about the incident, adding that evidence is also being collected and teams have been formed to nab the suspects. Police have said in their statement, "According to initial investigation, this incident seems to be a sign of mutual enmity. All aspects of the incident are under investigation. The culprits will be arrested and presented in court.

Who was Adnan Chaudhary?

According to the official portal of the Punjab Assembly, Adnan was the son of Chaudhary Muhammad Jan and was born on February 15, 1976 in Rawalpindi, Dawn reported. He graduated from Panjab University and was elected as MPA in 2018. He served the country as Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare. Adnan also served as the Parliamentary Secretary for Revenue from 2018–2020.

According to Dawn, two PTI workers were killed and 12 others injured in police firing during a protest organized in Alapuri, the district headquarters of Shangla, last week amid allegations of manipulation of election results.
