Punjab / Punjab University plans to reopen campus for final year students

Punjab University (PU) is ultimately making plans to reopen campus for final-year college students withinside the first or 2nd week of September.


In the primary phase, however, only those with practical and thesis work may be allowed to return. This was discussed in an assembly of a varsity panel on August 27 that turned into attended through dean university instructions (DUI), dean student welfare (DSW) and different officials.


If the scenario allows, the campus will subsequently be thrown open for different college students in a phased manner. The very last call is yet to be taken.

The UT management had allowed the reopening of instructional institutes withinside the town from August with a rider that each one teaching and non-teaching staff, except college students, need to have obtained at the least one dose of vaccination, minimal weeks prior.


“Number of college students in exit classes is better and the plan is to allow people with lab work and different task work on campus first,” stated a college official, at the circumstance of anonymity.


During the assembly, it was also mentioned that PU can not accommodate all of the college students in hostels given the Covid scenario and information may be gathered on the matter.
