IPL 2022 | R Ashwin and Jos Buttler will share the dressing room together for the first time in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the 15th season of the league starting from March 26, both the players will be seen in the jersey of Rajasthan Royals. While Butler has been a part of Rajasthan's team since 2018, Ashwin will be seen playing for Rajasthan for the first time in the IPL. Ashwin and Butler have not had a good relationship on the field. In IPL 2019, there was a lot of debate between the two on the field regarding Mankading. Ashwin was leading the Punjab Kings team at that time and he had Mankading out Butler. Butler later said that he was very disappointed with Ashwin's action as it was against the spirit of the game.

The two players, once staunch critics of each other, are now teammates and will now share the dressing room. A few days before the start of the tournament, Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday posted a photo on Twitter of Ashwin and Butler. Both the players are sitting together and laughing during the nets practice. Off Ashwin will lead the spin attack of Rajasthan Royals along with leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Rajasthan bought Ashwin for Rs 5 crore. At the same time, Butler is ready to open the innings with Yashasvi Jaiswal or Sanju Samson in the upcoming season. Butler was retained by Rajasthan for Rs 10 crore. Rajasthan Royals has to play its first match in IPL 2022 against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Pune on 29 March.
