Under the old pension scheme announced by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in the state budget, more than three lakh employees of the Rajasthan government appointed on or after January 1, 2004 will be covered. CM Gehlot has described this step as a humanitarian step.

Will provide social security pension

He said Gehlot said this was a long pending demand of the employees and would provide them social security after retirement. He said that the old pension scheme is in the interest of the employees and their families.

Gehlot had announced to revive the old pension scheme in the state budget presented on February 23, which has received an overwhelming response from state government employees and their unions. The Chief Minister said that this would serve two purposes.

It is not appropriate to have two categories in the case of pension.

He said that this would not only provide social security to the employees but also motivate them to work with full dedication, which would lead to good performance and good governance. At the same time, Gehlot said that it is not appropriate to have two categories in terms of pension for the employees working for the state.

Two pension schemes old and new creating discrimination

CM Gehlot said that two pension schemes - old and new - are creating discrimination. This affects the efficiency of the new employees. It is also the responsibility of the government to provide social security to its employees and hence, I have taken the decision. Explain that the pension scheme for government employees in the country was discontinued from 1 April 2004 and the new National Pension Scheme was implemented.
