INS Vikrant: Today is going to add another golden chapter in the history of the Indian Navy. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh's visit to the country's first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant is both a celebration and an honor of Indian maritime power. This visit is taking place at a time when the Indian Navy has recently proved its strategic capabilities and war skills through 'Operation Sindoor'.INS Vikrant: The pride of India's self-relianceINS Vikrant is not just a warship, but a symbol of India's indigenous defense manufacturing capability. This ship not only reflects India's supremacy at sea, but also embodies the idea of self-reliant India under "Make in India". 75% of its parts are made of indigenous technology, and it has been designed by Cochin Shipyard Limited. It was designed by the Warship Design Bureau (WDB) of the Indian Navy.Floating fortress in the sea262 meters long, 62 meters wide and 59 meters high, INS Vikrant can play the role of a mobile airbase during any war. This ship has the capacity to operate more than 30 fighter aircraft and helicopters. Aircraft like MiG-29K fighter jets, Kamov helicopters, and indigenous ALH can take off from its deck. Along with this, it is equipped with four 76 mm guns and four CIWS, which make it an impenetrable battle fortress.INS Vikrant's decisive role in Operation SindoorIn the recently concluded Operation Sindoor, INS Vikrant led the Indian Navy's Carrier Battle Group and made a forward deployment in the North Arabian Sea. The 8–10 warships deployed with it not only gave a clear warning to Pakistan, but also forced its navy to remain confined in the Karachi Naval Base. This strategic advantage was a big message for Pakistan — if tensions escalate, India's naval power is capable of responding to it not only at sea but also on land.Cause of Pakistan's concernThe presence of INS Vikrant has always worried the Pakistan Navy. Pakistan has a limited number of warships, while INS Vikrant alone can lead an entire battle unit. Its fighter jets and missile systems can also target Pakistan's strategic locations. INS Vikrant's activation during 'Operation Sindoor' forced Pakistan to demand a ceasefire.Defence Minister's visit: A messageRajnath Singh's visit to INS Vikrant is not just a formality, it is a strategic and psychological signal. It will boost the morale of the naval personnel, as well as make it clear to the country and enemies that India's strategic will is unwavering and strong. The Defence Minister has already met the Army and Air Force personnel, and his presence on INS Vikrant today is a symbol of a balanced military approach.
