BMS has now demanded that all Indian workers in Qatar should be provided with healthy working conditions and their human rights should be respected. "If the Qatar government does not take affirmative action on these fronts, BMS will be forced to take up this issue at the national and international forums at the earliest," Sinha said.

The Kafala system imposes many restrictions on workers. The laborers working here from other countries have no way of escape from harassment. He cannot leave the job of his own free will, he has to take permission from his employer even to go out of the country. They cannot change jobs or go back without the employer's permission. Not only this, many employers also confiscate even the passports of their workers and do not return them easily.
