The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has officially issued a stern reaction regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding the theft of donations at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya. Dattatreya Hosabale, the Sarkaryavah (General Secretary) of the RSS, released an official statement describing the entire incident as highly condemnable and deeply unfortunate. He emphasized that such an act of theft within the sacred precincts of the Ram Temple has caused immense pain and has hurt the religious sentiments of millions of Ram devotees across the world. The RSS has taken a firm stand, demanding that those responsible for this crime be identified and handed the strictest possible punishment under the law.
RSS Expresses Deep Concern Over Devotees Faith
In his detailed statement, Dattatreya Hosabale explained why the RSS views this incident with such gravity. He noted that the grand temple standing at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi isn't merely a physical structure but a profound symbol of the struggle of multiple generations. It represents the dedication, sacrifice, and ultimate surrender of crores of Ram devotees who contributed to its realization. Because of this historical and spiritual significance, the temple serves as the primary center of faith, reverence, and devotion for the entire Hindu society. Hosabale stated that the theft of funds from the donation boxes (Dan Patras) at the Shri Ram Lalla temple is a matter of great misfortune and should be treated with the utmost seriousness.
The RSS leader further insisted that this incident shouldn't be categorized or investigated as a routine or common crime. Instead, it must be viewed as a serious matter involving the faith of millions of people. While expressing the organization's stance, Hosabale also welcomed the investigation being conducted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT). However, he didn't stop at just demanding punishment; he also urged the temple management and the government to conduct a thorough review of the existing security and administrative arrangements. He demanded that all loopholes and deficiencies in the system be identified and rectified immediately to prevent any such occurrences in the future.
SIT Intensifies Investigation and Questioning
On the ground in Ayodhya, the SIT investigation has reached a critical phase. The SIT team is currently stationed within the Ram Mandir complex, focusing its probe on individuals who are considered close associates of the trust's General Secretary, Champat Rai, while for the second day in a row, the SIT is conducting intense questioning of Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao in connection with the donation theft case. This follows a marathon interrogation session yesterday that lasted for approximately 8 hours. The investigators are meticulously recording their statements to understand the internal handling of the donation boxes and the flow of funds.
The timeline of the investigation shows a steady escalation, while earlier, on June 30, the Ayodhya police had questioned Champat Rai himself for about 3 hours, during which his official statement was recorded. The focus has now shifted to his aides, Gopal Rao and Anil Mishra, as the SIT seeks to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy. The SIT has expressed suspicions that the eight individuals currently in custody and lodged in jail aren't the only ones involved in this heist. There is a strong belief among investigators that this could be a part of a larger, more organized loot involving multiple players, while to ensure a comprehensive probe, the SIT has already questioned more than 150 people related to the temple's administration and security.
Vinay Katiyar Claims Embezzlement and Predicts Arrests
The controversy has taken an even more dramatic turn with the statement of Vinay Katiyar, a veteran leader who was at the forefront of the Ram Mandir movement, while katiyar has openly alleged that there has been significant embezzlement in the Ram Mandir donations. He didn't mince words when he stated that the scale of the financial irregularities is substantial. In a startling claim, Katiyar suggested that the investigation might lead to the top, asserting that Champat Rai could also face jail time in connection with this case, while this statement from a prominent figure associated with the temple's history has added a new layer of intensity to the ongoing investigation and has sparked widespread debate regarding the transparency of the temple's financial management.
