New Delhi : Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede will no longer investigate the cruise drugs case. After the arrest of Aryan Khan, many allegations were leveled against Wankhede, which was the target of NCP leader Nawab Malik. NCB's South-Western Region Deputy DG Mutha Ashok Jain has said that a total of 6 cases, including Aryan's, will now be investigated by the Delhi team. The investigation of the case related to the son-in-law of Nawab Malik will also be done by the team of Delhi instead of the zonal director of NCB, Wankhede.

Excited by this decision of NCB, Nawab Malik wrote on Twitter, "Five cases including Aryan Khan case have been withdrawn from Sameer Wankhede. There are 26 such cases which require investigation. This is just the beginning. A lot more needs to be done to clean this system and we will do it.” On Saturday, a team of NCB will reach Mumbai to take over the investigation of these cases.

I was not removed, I had demanded from the court: Wankhede

Reacting to the news of his removal from the Aryan Khan case, Sameer Wankhede told ANI, "I have not been dropped from the investigation. I had given a writ petition in the court that the matter should be investigated by a central agency. Therefore, the investigation of Aryan case and Sameer Khan (son-in-law of Nawab Malik) will now be done by the SIT of Delhi NCB. This is a coordination between Delhi and Mumbai NCB team.

Nawab Malik surrounded by allegations after Aryan's arrest

Earlier on Tuesday, Wankhede had said that the drug mafia was trying to implicate him in false cases. Wankhede has been accused of extortion and forgery in documents for government jobs. Nawab Malik, a minister in the Maharashtra government, has alleged that Wankhede is a Muslim, but he snatched the rights of a Scheduled Caste person by making a fake certificate. Malik has also said that within a year Wankhede will lose his job and he will be in jail. It was on October 2, led by Wankhede, a raid was conducted on a cruise going from Mumbai to Goa and Shahrukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was arrested. Wankhede had also arrested Nawab Malik's son-in-law in a drugs case.
