Shatrughan Sinha Rejects TMC Exit Rumors, Pledges Loyalty To Mamata Banerjee

Amidst swirling rumors of a potential exodus from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), veteran actor and Member of Parliament Shatrughan Sinha has categorically dismissed reports suggesting his departure from the party, while the Asansol MP clarified his stance, putting an end to the intense speculation that he might be joining a group of disgruntled leaders. Sinha emphasized his unwavering loyalty to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, citing her support during his most challenging times as the primary reason for his commitment to the party and its leadership.

Clarification on Rebellion Rumors

Speaking to the news agency PTI, Shatrughan Sinha addressed the ongoing discussions regarding his political future. He noted that for the past few days, there has been significant speculation surrounding his position within the TMC. He observed that while some people were speaking the truth, others were merely spreading baseless rumors. Addressing the claims that he had joined a so-called rebel faction, Sinha maintained his characteristic forthrightness. He stated that by nature, he has always been outspoken and candid about his views regarding the political landscape.

" However, he was quick to clarify that this doesn't translate into leaving the party or abandoning Mamata Banerjee. He stated clearly that Mamata Banerjee stood by him during his difficult phases, and now that she's navigating a challenging period, he can't and won't leave her side. He reiterated that his loyalty is rooted in the support he received when he needed it most, and he remains a steadfast ally of the Chief Minister.

Gratitude to Asansol and West Bengal

Shatrughan Sinha took the opportunity to express his deep gratitude to the people of Asansol and West Bengal. He credited the citizens for their immense love, respect, and consistent support, which ensured his electoral victories. Reflecting on his journey with the TMC, he recalled that he first came to Asansol at the invitation and request of "Didi" (Mamata Banerjee). In his very first election in the constituency, he secured a victory with a record-breaking margin. This success was repeated in subsequent elections, where he again won by a substantial margin, solidifying his bond with the local electorate.

He specifically thanked Mamata Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress leadership, and the voters of Asansol for their trust. Sinha emphasized that he has always worked for the welfare of everyone in Bengal, irrespective of their political affiliations or whether they voted for him. He stated that he understands his responsibilities as a public representative and remains dedicated to fulfilling them. He credited Mamata Banerjee for encouraging him to remain active in public life and continue his parliamentary journey without interruption, noting that her belief in him was instrumental in his decision to contest from Asansol.

Congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi

The TMC MP acknowledged the Prime Minister for completing 12 years in his current office, describing it as perhaps the longest tenure. In his message, he referred to the Prime Minister as a friend and a guide for the society and the country.
