Lok Sabha Election: Dr. S.T. Hasan was camping in Lucknow for the last several days. He had met Akhilesh Yadav many times. Had lobbied many big leaders of the party. Many candidates were announced while Hasan was in Lucknow, but Moradabad's number was not coming. Kamal Akhtar also wanted to contest elections from Moradabad. He also gave his full strength for the ticket. He has been a minister in Akhilesh Yadav's government. He is an MLA from Kanth seat of Moradabad. Akhilesh Yadav also wanted to give tickets to Muslim leaders with soft Hindutva thinking this time.

After several meetings in Samajwadi Party, the Moradabad ticket has now been finalized. Only ST Hasan will now contest elections from there. Akhilesh Yadav held a meeting with party leaders of Moradabad today. All the big leaders including MLAs from Moradabad and Rampur were present in this meeting. Akhilesh announced his decision in front of everyone. Then he asked Kamal Akhtar to tell the media about this decision. Kamal himself wanted to contest the elections. But on the instructions of Akhilesh he left his candidature. After coming out, it was Kamal who told the media about ST Hasan contesting the elections.

Suspense continues on Rampur seat

Moradabad has been decided but suspense still remains on Rampur. In the last elections, Samajwadi Party had won both these seats. Akhilesh Yadav met Azam Khan in jail only to finalize the ticket. Azam is in jail after being sentenced by the court. They cannot contest elections. His wife Tanzin Fatima and son Abdullah Azam are also in jail. The court has also banned him from contesting elections. In jail, Azam appealed to Akhilesh to contest elections from Rampur.

Azam Khan said- Akhilesh should contest elections from here

Azam Khan said that if he contests the elections, the victory of the Samajwadi Party is certain. After Azam's resignation, BJP had won the Lok Sabha by-election held in Rampur. Azam Khan had made his close associate Asim Raza contest the elections. Azam Khan told Akhilesh in jail that no one will be able to fight except you. A team of party leaders from Rampur met Akhilesh. All of them also appealed to Akhilesh to contest the elections.

Akhilesh Yadav asked for one day's time

In response to this, Akhilesh asked for one day's time. A senior party leader said that Azam Khan cannot be trusted blindly. Who knows if there is any politics behind his proposal to make Akhilesh contest elections from Rampur. There is election in Rampur in the first round only. The last date for nomination is 27 March.
