Rajasthan Politics: After the election results in Rajasthan on December 3, it has taken about a month for the new government to come into full existence. But Bharatiya Janata Party, which returned to power after defeating Congress, has once again surprised everyone. After a long brainstorming, BJP made first time MLA Bhajan Lal Sharma the Chief Minister of the state and now again surprising everyone by making a candidate a minister even before voting. Congress has expressed objection to making Surendrapal Singh a minister.

When Governor Kalraj Mishra administered the oath of office to former minister Surendrapal Singh TT at Raj Bhavan in Jaipur, everyone was shocked by this name because he is not even an MLA yet, and is contesting from Karanpur assembly seat. Voting on this seat is to be held on January 5. Counting of votes will take place on January 8. The election on this seat was postponed due to the death of Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh Kooner. The special thing is that Surendrapal Singh was defeated in the 2018 elections.

Rajasthan: 20 out of 25 became ministers for the first time

Today 12 MLAs were sworn in as Cabinet Ministers, while 5 leaders became Ministers of State (Independent Charge) and 5 became Ministers of State. On the lines of Madhya Pradesh, many new faces were made ministers here too. In Madhya Pradesh, where 28 MLAs were made ministers on December 25, there were 7 MLAs who became MLAs for the first time and reached the post of ministers. Whereas in Rajasthan on Saturday, 22 people were made ministers, out of which 16 have become MLAs for the first time. If we look at the cabinet of Bhajanlal Sharma in the politics of Rajasthan, after today's swearing in, the number of the cabinet has reached 25 in which 20 people including the Chief Minister have become ministers for the first time.

Making him a minister even before the elections is believed to be a special strategy of BJP. Surendrapal Singh's performance in the elections held on Karanpur seat 5 years ago was not good and he slipped to third place in the elections. Gurmeet Singh Kooner of Congress had won. Gurmeet Singh (73,896) defeated independent candidate Prithipal Singh (45,520) by a margin of 28,376 votes. While BJP's Surendra Singh got 44,099 votes and stood third.

Congress made Gurmeet's son its candidate

But this time, before the elections, Congress candidate Gurmeet Singh died in November due to which the elections were postponed. He was MLA from Karanpur seat three times. Whereas Surendrapal Singh is counted among the veteran leaders of BJP in the politics of TT state. He was successful in winning elections from here twice. This time too the elections are likely to be tough because Congress has made Gurmeet Singh's son Rupinder Singh its candidate.

Surendra Singh has been a minister in both the tenures of Vasundhara Raje Scindia. In Vasundhara's first term, he was the Agriculture Minister from 2003 to 2008. Whereas after returning to power in 2013, he was made the Minister of Mines and Petroleum in the Vasundhara government.

Congress also expressed objection

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has also expressed objection to making Surendrapal Singh a minister. He posted on There is also an attempt to influence the voters. The Election Commission should take cognizance of this issue and take immediate action.

Congress is criticizing BJP for making Surendrapal a minister even before the elections. Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasara expressed displeasure over this and said that the party will take the matter to the Election Commission and demand action. He says that this is perhaps the first case of its kind in the country when BJP has made its candidate a minister even before the elections.

BJP has made 20 leaders ministers for the first time in Rajasthan, but there are some faces who have not been made ministers despite having immense experience. Kalicharan Saraf has become MLA for the eighth time from Malviya Nagar assembly seat of the capital Jaipur district but could not become a minister. Similarly, Pratap Singh Singhvi of BJP managed to become MLA for the seventh time from Chhabra seat of Baran district, but he also remained away from the post of minister.
