IND vs BAN: The Indian women's cricket team, which returned to the field after a long wait of four months, started as expected. The Indian team, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur, reached Bangladesh tour and registered an easy win in the first match of the T20 series. Captain Kaur herself scored a strong half-century and won the team by 7 wickets. Debutant spinner Minnu Mani also contributed to India's victory.

Team India has returned to international cricket for the first time after the defeat against Australia in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup in February. This series is not considered too difficult for him, but this series is very important in terms of preparations for the Asian Games to be held in September. In such a situation, Team India is also giving a chance to some new players for this series.

New players impressed

In the very first match of the series, Captain Kaur gave a chance to 20-year-old left-arm spinner Bareddy Anusha and 24-year-old off-spinner Minnu Mani. Both the bowlers also impressed. Although India was not expected to face much trouble in front of Bangladesh, yet the Indian bowlers restricted the hosts to just 114 runs.

Shorna Akhtar scored the maximum 28 runs for Bangladesh. The team played full 20 overs and lost only 5 wickets but could not even come close to the big score.

Minnu Mani gave 21 runs in his spell of 3 overs and got the wicket of opener Shamima Sultana. On the other hand, Anusha did not get any success but in 4 overs she spent only 24 runs. Experienced all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar, who is handling the command of fast bowling, got 1 success.

Shefali failed, the captain completed the work

This target never looked like a problem for India but this opener Shefali Verma failed to capitalize on this opportunity. She got out without opening the account on the third ball of the innings itself. At the same time, Jemima Rodriguez also returned to the pavilion till the fourth over. India's score was 21 runs for 2 wickets.

Before the Bangladeshi team could create any reversal, captain Harmanpreet Kaur and vice-captain Smriti Mandhana put an end to this apprehension by sharing a 70-run partnership. Smriti got out after coming close to victory, but captain Kaur gave the team victory by hitting a four and a six in the 17th over. Along with this, Harmanpreet also completed his 11th T20 half-century.
