During the survey in Varanasi, it has been claimed to have found a Shivling in the Gyanvapi Mosque. Jitendra Singh Bisen, advocate for the Hindu side, said, 'So much evidence has been found in Gyanvapi, which cannot be uncovered yet. Just want to tell that Shivling of about 12 and a half feet has been found. I will not wait for 500 years like in Ayodhya. The grand temple of Baba Vishwanath will continue to be built and will be built at the earliest. He has expressed the possibility that he will get success in Mathura too.

This is the same Shivling, which was installed by Akbar's finance minister Todarmal in 1585. Then Pandit Narayan Bhatt of Banaras was also with him. The upper part of the Shivling was damaged in the destruction of Aurangzeb.

This Shivling is of precious emerald stone. The color is green. However, many claims have come to the fore regarding the size of Shivling. This Shivling is in the part of Gyanvapi in front of Nandi installed in Shrikashi Vishwanath temple. The Shivling is still buried in the middle of the mosque in the basement in front of Nandi Maharaj. Its Argha is also very big.

30 years ago when the lock was closing, the Shivling was still visible

The former Mahant of Shrikashi Vishwanath Temple, Dr. Vice Chancellor Tiwari said that what is being called a basement in the Gyanvapi Masjid is actually a Mandir Mandapam. Those who are talking about the basements are all mandapams. It would be better if they were called mandapams instead of basements. Dr. Tiwari told that Pandit Narayan Bhatt of his family had installed a Shivling of emerald stone.

In the 90s, Saurabh Chandra Srivastava, who was the DM of Varanasi, had then locked the mandapam, so there was photography inside at that time too, in which he was involved. At that time it was seen that there is a Shivling right in front of Nandi inside.

Mandapam at the four corners below the Gyanvapi Mosque

In the book 'The Sacred City of Hindu' written by Rev. MA Tshering in 1868, it is mentioned that there are mandapams at the four corners below the Gyanvapi Mosque. Gyan Mandapam, Shringar Mandapam, Aishwarya Mandapam and Mukti Mandapam. Foreign writer Altekar has given the size of these four mandapams as 16-16 feet. The height of Golambara is 128 feet.

Court ordered to seal

On the application of Harishankar Jain, the court ordered the Varanasi administration to seal the place where the Shivling was found. The court also said that the place should be protected. preserve. Don't let anyone go there. The court has given personal responsibility to the DM, Police Commissioner and CRPF commandant to protect and secure the place.
