After the death of his companion, the fellow peacock took part in his 'cremation', bid farewell with moist eyes.

According to the information, three peacocks lived in the house of Ram Swaroop Bishnoi, who runs a forest and animal protection center in Kuchera in Nagaur district. These peacocks were living here for four years. On Sunday evening, an eight-year-old male peacock breathed his last due to old age and loss of vision. After the death of the male peacock, when the people there were taking him to perform the last rites, the fellow peacock kept following him for about three hours and roaming around the body of his companion for about three hours.

The fellow peacock came back after the funeral

Not only this, when the people there started taking the dead body of the peacock for the last rites, then his companion peacock started following that 'cremation'. In a conversation with Hindustan Live, Bishnoi told that the dead peacock and his companions used to eat food together every morning and evening. Love like family was seen in those peacocks. He told, 'For a long time, the fellow peacock did not allow the dead peacock's dead body to be taken away. Eventually when the children started carrying the peacock's carcass, he too went along and came back after the last rites.
