New Delhi. The BCCI may decide on the remaining 31 matches of IPL 2021 in the special AGM to be held on 29 May. The board may finalize the window to complete IPL 2021. According to a report, the board intends to host the remaining matches in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in September-October after the England tour ends. India will begin their England tour from June 18, where they will play the final of the World Test Championship against New Zealand. After this, a five-Test series will be played between India and England from 4 August.

Team India's tour of England will end on 14 September and the BCCI will get a month's time between 15 September and 15 October before the T20 World Cup. However, the BCCI is yet to make a formal request to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). But it is being said that the BCCI can ask the difference between the two teams to reduce the difference between the second Test and the third Test from nine days to four days. This will give BCCI more time for IPL.

"If that difference can be reduced to four, the BCCI will get five additional days," the Times of India quoted a source as saying. The BCCI is also planning to induct foreign players for the rest of the IPL matches. England has plans to send cricketers from the UK to the UAE.

TOI quoted sources as saying, "If the time between the two Test matches is not reduced, then in these 30 days, the Indian team and English cricketers will have to take a whole day apart to bring them from the UK to the UAE." Also, five days have to be set aside for the knockout phase. With this, the BCCI will have only 24 days to complete 27 matches. There are eight Saturdays-Sundays in this window. Which means that the weekend can have 16 matches with double headers. After this, the BCCI will have to conduct only 11 matches in 19 days. There is an extra week here. "

The BCCI also feels that the IPL 2021 will serve as the right platform for the ICC T20 World Cup practice. India is expected to host the T20 World Cup in October-November this year. If the situation does not improve in India, then the World Cup can also be held in the UAE. The IPL 2020 was also played in the UAE due to the Corona epidemic.
