However, now Trinamool Congress National Secretary Abhishek Banerjee has issued a measured statement on this matter.

What did Abhishek Banerjee say?

On Mahua Moitra case, Trinamool leader Abhishek Banerjee said that there are many cases pending in the Ethics Committee. He also raised the issue of abusive language used by BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri in Parliament. Abhishek said that if any member raises questions on the government, then in this manner he is being removed from the post of MP. The Trinamool leader said- "I think Mahua Moitra is capable of fighting her own battle."

Will send proposal to Lok Sabha Speaker – Sonkar

Lok Sabha Ethics Committee Chairman Vinod Sonkar has also issued an update in the ongoing case against Mahua Moitra. He said that regarding the complaint made by Nishikant Dubey and the affidavit submitted by Hiranandani, in the earlier two meetings we investigated the complaints and the statement of Mahua Moitra was also recorded. After all this, the Ethics Committee meeting was held today. We will discuss all the issues and send the proposal to the Lok Sabha Speaker. He said that the committee will take a decision based on all the facts and send the proposal to the Lok Sabha Speaker.

Abhishek appeared before ED

Trinamool leader Abhishek Banerjee appeared at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Kolkata on Thursday. He was called for questioning in the alleged school employment scam case in the state. After coming out of the ED office, Abhishek said that he has nothing to hide and he is always ready to cooperate with the agency in this case.
