SEBI's detailed 350-page order clarified that no evidence of fraud, market manipulation, or insider trading was found by Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, or other group companies. The order stated that all transactions investigated were compliant with applicable laws and could not be classified as fraudulent or in violation of the Prohibition of Unfair Trade Practices (Prohibition of Unfair Trade Practices) regulations. Following this decision, Adani Group shares saw a sharp rise on Friday, September 19, 2025.

Hindenburg's allegations baseless: Gautam Adani

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani welcomed SEBI's decision, saying, "All the allegations made by Hindenburg Research were completely baseless. After a detailed investigation, SEBI has confirmed our position that these claims were unfounded. Transparency and honesty have always been the hallmarks of the Adani Group." Expressing grief over the losses suffered by investors, he said, "We deeply feel the pain of those investors who lost their money due to this malicious and fraudulent report."

Mahua Moitra's sarcasm and CFO's response

Reacting to SEBI's decision, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra posted a sarcastic remark on the social media platform X, "Wow! SEBI India has given a clean chit to the Adani Group. Can't believe it. Never expected this. Has this really happened?" Her post garnered widespread attention on social media. In response, Adani Group CFO Jugeshinder Roby Singh jokingly replied, "Heartiest wishes to the Honorable MP for the Puja festival." This post by the CFO is also rapidly going viral on social media, and the banter has further fueled the discussion.
