Mahua Moitra Married: Trinamool Congress (TMC)'s flamboyant and outspoken leader Mahua Moitra has got married, adding a new chapter to her personal life. She married Biju Janata Dal (BJD) senior leader Pinaki Mishra, who has a strong identity in Odisha politics. The political couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Germany. According to reports, the wedding took place on May 3.

Pinaki Mishra, who has been an MP several times from Puri in Odisha, lost to BJP's Sambit Patra in the recently concluded 2024 Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, Mahua Moitra has once again made it to Parliament on a TMC ticket from Krishnanagar seat in West Bengal. She is known as one of the most vocal and thoughtful MPs in Parliament.

This is Mahua's second marriage

This is Mahua Moitra's second marriage. Earlier, she married Danish financier Lars Brorsen, but later the relationship ended in divorce. Mahua has also come a long way in her political career. She was a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly between 2016 and 2019 and started her political journey as an MLA from Karimpur.

Born on 12 October 1974 in Assam, Mahua Moitra is not only an MP but has also been an accomplished economist. She received a bachelor's degree in economics and mathematics in 1998 from the prestigious Mount Holyoke College, Massachusetts, USA. Before entering politics, she was working as a vice president at JP Morgan Chase, London. In 2009, she bid goodbye to her corporate career and chose the path of public service and politics.
