Cyclone Yaas Latest News Live Updates Today: Cyclone 'Yas' is threatening the coastal areas of West Bengal and North Odisha. The meteorological department has predicted a storm cyclone Yas to turn into a severe cyclonic storm in the next few hours. The storm is expected to touch the coast of West Bengal and Odisha on Wednesday morning. Yas storm formed in Bay of Bengal will enter Odisha, which will affect 8 states including Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Bihar.

- The cyclone is 280 km away from Paradip. This is the Seavier Cyclone. Today, it will reach Balasore-Dhamra at 5 to 6 am, the speed of which will be 155-165 kilometers per hour. Before the storm in Balasore, the weather has started to deteriorate continuously.

- The airport administration has postponed flights from Kolkata Airport on May 26 from 8:30 am to 7:45 pm due to inclement weather due to Yas cyclone storm.

- Cyclonic storm Yas is expected to hit south of Paradip tomorrow afternoon. The cyclonic storm will be very strong in the next 12 hours. At the same time, it is raining with strong winds in Balasore, Odisha.

- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told in the press conference that two incidents have occurred due to Hurricane Yas. 40 houses have been damaged in Halishahar. The second incident took place in Chinsurah, where some houses were reported damaged. Two people have died due to electrocution in Pandua.

- Nearly two lakh people have been evacuated to safe places in Odisha in view of Cyclone Yas. The target is to reach 7 lakh people in the cyclone camp. NDRF has given information about this.

-West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar visited the Regional Meteorological Center in Kolkata in view of Cyclone Yas. The governor also spoke to Sanjeev Bandyopadhyay, head of the regional meteorological center.

- It is being told that cyclonic storm Yas is located 411 km south of Kolkata.

- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the Control Center of Cyclone Yas in Kolkata to take stock of the preparations.

According to meteorology, the impact of the Yas cyclone will be seen in the south districts of Bihar. Heavy rain is expected in 1-2 districts today or tomorrow. Day before tomorrow, there will be heavy rainfall in 1-2 districts of South Bihar. Light to moderate rains will occur over the next 5-6 days across the state.

According to the Meteorological Department, cyclonic storm 'Yas' (Cyclone Yaas) is expected to cause heavy rains with strong winds today and Tuesday in the coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal.
