This ambitious project includes a 1.86 km long 6-lane Ganga river bridge, with a total cost of more than Rs 1,870 crore. This bridge will establish direct connectivity between Mokama and Begusarai in Patna, significantly improving the road connectivity of Bihar. This new bridge has been built parallel to the old 2-lane railway-road bridge "Rajendra Setu", which is currently in a dilapidated condition. The construction of the new bridge will not only increase the ease of traffic but will also give impetus to the economic development of the region.PM Modi's Bihar visit: Laying the foundation stone of development projectsAt around 11 am on Friday, Prime Minister Modi will reach Gaya in Bihar, where he will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects costing around Rs 13,000 crore. During this, he will flag off two trains and address the gathering. After this, he will visit the Auntha-Simaria bridge project and formally inaugurate it.Distance will be reduced by more than 100 kmDue to the poor condition of Rajendra Setu, heavy vehicles had to take a long detour, due to which more than 100 km additional distance had to be covered in travel between North Bihar (Begusarai, Supaul, Madhubani, Purnia, Araria etc.) and South Bihar (Sheikhpura, Nawada, Lakhisarai etc.). The new 6-lane bridge will eliminate this additional distance, providing a direct and faster route to heavy vehicles. This will not only save time and fuel, but will also reduce the problem of traffic jams in the region to a great extent. This bridge will play an important role in the economic development of North Bihar, as this region is dependent on South Bihar and Jharkhand for the supply of raw materials.A new era for BiharThe Auntha-Simaria bridge project will prove to be a milestone for Bihar. This will not only facilitate traffic but will also create new opportunities for trade, commerce and employment. This visit of Prime Minister Modi and the laying of the foundation stone of development projects will provide a new direction to the development of Bihar, which will further boost the progress and prosperity of the state.
