These SUVs get high ground clearance, optimized approach and departure angles, tough duty suspension, off-roading tires and 4X4 drivetrain system. If you are looking for a similar SUV, then let us tell you that in the next year i.e. 2023, many off-road SUVs are going to be launched. These include the 5-door Maruti Jimny, 5-door Mahindra Thar and 5-door Force Gurkha. Let us tell about them.

The Indo-Japanese automaker will showcase the 5-door version of the Jimny SUV at the Auto Expo to be held in January 2023. Its market launch is expected before next year's festive season. If reports are to be believed then the new Maruti Jimny can come in two seating configurations – 5-seat and 7-seat (optional). The new 5-door Maruti Jimny can get a 1.5 liter K15 petrol engine. A 5-speed manual gearbox can be given in it. It will be equipped with 4X4 drivetrain system.

5-Door Mahindra Thar

Mahindra is testing its 5-door Thar. This new off-road SUV can also be showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo and can be launched towards the end of the next financial year. The 5-door Mahindra Thar could be based on a ladder frame chassis. Also, Pentalink rear suspension can also be given in it. Compared to the 3-door Thar, it will have a longer wheelbase and more cabin space. It can get the option of 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engine. This off-road SUV can come in 6 and 7-seating layout.


The 5-door version of the Force Gurkha has already started arriving at the dealerships. It comes with a longer wheelbase as compared to the 3-door version Gurkha. The higher trims of the SUV could get 18-inch alloy wheels and the lower variants could get smaller steel wheels. The 5-door Force Gurkha could be powered by the same 2.6-litre turbo diesel engine that powers the 3-door version. It will also come with 4X4 drivetrain system.
